'All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.' 'For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus.'  There was only one who had no sin - that was Jesus Christ.  And that was because He was both man and God. God cannot sin.  God sent an angel to the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus.  He told Mary that the Holy Spirit would come to her and she would bear a child.  Jesus was born both man and God.  (The day Jesus was born is called Christmas).  Being God he was spotless, without sin.  God did this because of His love for us, because He loves you.

The Old Covenant

In the Old Testament of the Bible man had a covenant or contract with God.  They lived by the laws that God gave to Moses, the Ten Commandments and other laws.  When man broke the laws of the old testament he could repent, and pay for his sin through a sin offering to God. Often this would be a spotless, perfect lamb.  The lamb would be sacrificed and the sin would be paid for though the lamb's blood.

Man would not obey.  Man broke the Old Covenant with God. 

The New Covenant

God sent His Son, Jesus, to be born of a virgin.  He is both God and man.  A spotless, sinless man.

Jesus came to us as the Son of God.  Jesus came to all who believed, and brought us a new covenant or contract that would place God's law within our hearts.  He gave us a new heart and a new Spirit, which is His Holy Spirit, giving us a greater intimacy with God and greater knowledge of Him.
